Each summer, MentorKids hosts FREE Summer Enrichment Camps in 3 low-income and under-resourced neighborhoods. The goal this year is to have at least 200 children attend!
And I want to help!
On average and under normal circumstances, children from low-income families lose nearly three months of grade-level equivalency during the summer months, compared to an average of one month lost by middle-income children when reading and math performance are combined. Current research indicates that the Coronavirus Pandemic with school closures and unequal access to educational support will have a tremendous negative impact with far-reaching effects that will likely intensify already widening opportunity gaps.
MentorKids’ summer programs are designed to specifically address this growing educational summer gap. Each Summer Enrichment Program will include Reading and Back-to-School Readiness, STEM activities, Bible Activities, and Physical Fitness.
On May 15th at Orange Tree Golf Course I’m playing 100 holes!
Will you help me? $10 a hole (= $1,000) sends ONE child to camp!
